I think there may be a chance, absolutely a little, that the development of Skylines 2 cities was a little difficult. The game was launched again in October 2023 and suffered from performance problems, DLC rushed, and delayed the first expansion bridges and ports. This expansion was supposed to come shortly after DLC beach, but this did not happen, as it stuck to a delay at some point in the second quarter of 2025 specifically to continue the improvement in the basic game. Except for expansion, it was delayed again.
In a forum publication, the developer COLOSSAL Order shared an update explaining the reason for DLC with another delay. “After reviewing the content ourselves and sharing it with our early access group, we received consistent comments: the bridges are very exciting, the port works well, but there are aspects of expansion that are not polished as it can be.”
They say this left them “a difficult option: delaying the version again to add more depth, or launch it as it is, knowing that the players may feel briefly.” Colosel also said they believe that bridges and ports are as enjoyable as they are, but “transfer them to the level they deserve, we need more time.” Now, it is expected to be launched at some point in the fourth quarter of this year.
Ironically, there is a free update on June 11 that was supposed to coincide with the expansion that includes two new bridges, three recreational berths and three mortgage. It’s something! In order to be fair to the huge, its delay is likely to be the best decision, I can easily see another failed DLC drowning the city of the city’s origin.
I think there was some of the famous man who had a plumbing of a son who once said something like “The expansion of late bridges and ports is ultimately good, but expanding the bridges and accelerated ports is bad forever.” It may be a reformulation.
